“The world pampers the body with food and material comforts.
They appease the flesh, but are enemies of the spirit.
Abstinence is a bridle that gives the spirit a chance in the eternal quarrel with the body.”

Andrew Davidson writes one of the most intricately woven tales I have read so far. None of his words are wasted. He spins many smaller tales within the tale itself making it even more mesmerizing and enticing.
At one part in the story I cried like I did when i watched the Notebook. I couldn’t hold back when I felt the loss and pain that en captured one of the characters.
The words that form on the pages show, in great detail, a great story. I loved this book.
