Okay. they have taken it too far with Forensic related shows. This is just terrible. & here’s why. For one I myself am a real live forensic scientist. I’m in the navy at the moment but I just got a degree in Forensic and Investigative Sciences, so I feel well certified to give this personal opinion.

Now, there are many many many shows out dealing with forensic science and most of them are obscene and not truthful, but this one… this one is up there as a lead runner with all the rest unrealistic shows on television these days. This is what happens when you’re just flipping through. You get frustrated.

This show is supposed to be about Jane and John Does. After they are killed and found, they still aren’t identified so civilians decide just to help out and identify them.

TRAILER:

Now, don’t get me wrong, the stories reel you in just as much as CSI, NCIS, Cold Case, etc. Why do I have a problem? Because they are allowing civilians to go ahead and solve murders. Civilians who don’t have an office, a badge, nothing. They work out of an apartment for Gods sakes. Think about it. If you were approached on the streets by a person in regular clothing and they started to randomly question you would you talk to them? Would you tell them personal information?

Now, the police station just hands over evidence to them from their files or whatever, to analyze and use in their search for their name. Are you shitting me. You could never use that in a court. Once the chain of custody is broken the basic truths on which it stands are shattered. Handing evidence over to a civilian no matter what the case, no matter how much they want to help, is totally preposterous. They need to look like workers, and they need some sort of civilian badge showing who they are and what they’re doing.

Of course the dead people talk and tell their stories, which is a nice touch but a John or Jane Doe is someone who has been unidentified but found for very long periods of time. They don’t do a very good job of representing that. They just say three months later, or whatever. I guarantee that if I would have been at college talking with one of my mentors we would have been having a good laugh. A man who says everything and anything he thinks, is an unbiased man indeed.

So I’ve only seen one episode of the show, and I think its complete bullocks. Go ahead and try to challenge me, I dare you.
