voting-postThe day after the election I didn’t have class, my professor was in D.C. at some conference.

I woke up at 6am to muster online and check my email. After seeing the results I threw my phone across the room and willed myself back to bed.

I didn’t wake up again until 1pm. It’s been a very long time since I’ve slept that late.

Walking downstairs I decided on cookies & cream ice cream for breakfast and downed it with a double shot of Macallan scotch, whatever was closest.

Sitting on the couch, I turned on my phone and saw the first 2 posts on facebook, and promptly logged off. F that noise.

I didn’t turn on the tv, just worked on my thesis proposal for a couple of hours and stayed in my house the whole day

I didn’t communicate with anyone, didn’t make any phone calls, didn’t even open any of the window blinds.

At one point I decided to watch the first episode of Westworld, and that sucked me right in, it’s really good!

Pretty much binge watched that (there are only 6 episodes currently) and gave up on the thesis proposal for the time being.

After midnight I was still awake, still sitting in the same place wearing the same clothes. I watched Hillary’s concession speech.

The next morning I had class at 8am but my cousin called me to tell me about her life  with newborn twins around 6:30. I can’t imagine what that life would be like right now!

I logged back onto social media around 7:45 while I was waiting for class to start. Jesus. What are you going to do, express every political opinion that is thrown your way for a couple of weeks and then suck it up and get on with it? If you can bitch and moan and complain then there better also be positive action behind it.
