On Sunday evening, Liz & I convinced Nic to go for a stroll on Pebble Creek Drive in Rocklin, California. If you live in Rocklin and are looking to get into the festive holiday spirit, then I can highly suggest a drive by Pebble Creek Drive. They go all out over there, with some crazy good Christmas lights and a fun and festive atmosphere.
When I was young, if we were in Wisconsin visiting our extended family for the holiday’s, we would always drive by a place called Candy Cane Lane, a street in West Allis that was always lit up and on display. I have very fond memories from those times, and haven’t been to anything like it since, which may be why I had so much fun in Rocklin on Sunday evening.
There were many people in keeping with the Disney/Pixar themes, which you can’t go wrong with.
Christmas Minions! We actually walked through the neighborhood because driving through seemed very slow, but there were long lines of cars and big groups of people on all side of the street.
Beauty & the Beast! One of my favorites, mostly because she’s my favorite disney princess. Can’t wait for the live action film coming in March!
Gotta love a festive shoutout to the Beatles on Penny Lane.
Haha, I just liked the look of this guy^
I’m pretty sure this is the epitomy of all houses. A National Lampoons Nightmare, and also the corner house on the block with all of the best decorations. I mean seriously, how hard was it to put those reindeer and Santa’s sleigh on the roof? So good.
So many great decorations to take in as you walk around the corner here.
Some people even had nativity style settings in their garage. #Dedication
Thomas the steam engine is over there puffing away on railroad tracks made of light. Whaaa. Who set all of that up?
Santa Mail. Last februrary I was at Santa’s workshop in the Arctic Circle in Finland, and got to see where all that mail gets delivered 😉
ICE MONSTER from Frozen. This lightening makes him even creepier.
The gang is all here. I still can’t figure out if they order these cutouts and paint them, make their own, or just order the whole thing from a certain company. I’m sure it’s a bit of all three depending on the house, but now I have an idea of my decoration goals in the future. Imagining big things over here!
Pretty much all of the Disney stories were covered. We saw multiples of some, and we did not end up walking through the entire neighborhood.
A castle for a princess. On the street, there were multiple limos that drove by. Does that mean people hired a limo to bring them over to see Christmas lights? Not sure, but it was a Sunday night, so I can’t imagine everyone was out getting too crazy.
“You’re a mean one… mister grinch!”
Stealing lights right off the houses. Love this.
International Christmas theme. The characters remind me of South Park.
How to Train Your Dragon and Tangled, how can you go wrong?
The Snoopy gangs all here.
Cinderelly + The Little Mermaid, and another scene from Beauty and the Beast, I couldn’t decide which one was better.
One house was decorated in all gold and white lights and undertones, it was sophisticated and beautiful. Liz and I commented on how good it looked, this is a small snapshot from the house.
Merida looks really good with those ice blue lights in the background.
The neat part about the houses, was that you had to look at all angles of the house so you didn’t miss anything. Do you see the army soldiers and the slinky dog on the roof?
Coming back by Thomas the train engine.
How can you not love this one? Liz convinced Simba to sit on the grass for a moment, while we ot photos of him with the 101 Dalmations. Can you spot the live dog in this photo? He’s wearing a Christmas sweater so you’ll have to pay close attention.
Another Grinch scene, but this time with members from Whoville partying in the yard.
These small snowmen were bobbing up and down on the ground.
Another take on Santa’s sleigh. Loves it.
The last yard we saw was another 101 Dalmations and I thought this guy was so cute. Our spiked mugs kept us quite warm on the walk and overall we took about 40 minutes walking around on the road, before heading home.
Only 4 more days till Christmas and this is the most festive I’ve felt in years.
